Birthday...

Talking about birthday..
Probably one of the most awaited day when you're still a child. All those gifts and yummy cake. Being prince/princess for a day, blow up candles and all those balloons, wishing that the day will never end.
When you got older, start thinking.. should we celebrate or sadly remember that actually another year has gone by for you.. Have you achieved anything for the year passed? Have you done something for your family? Have you done something...?
Birthday.. for me.. now.. it's all about family..
For the last two years, I've spent my birthday alone, in the hotel room, far from my family.. that's what it takes to have a job that requires you to travel most of the time.. It's not the cake that I've missed, nor the gifts.. Just being there with my family, see the smile on my children face, that's the greatest gift a father could ever asked for.
And this year, I got all of that and with a bonus.. :), cake and dinner.. made by my lovely wife.. :). Thanks Luv...

Tumis Kangkung

Gak kerasa sudah 1,5 bulan sejak pindah ke dubai. Everything seems to move so fast, shifting to new apartment, buying new furniture, cleaning and tidying up, gosh.. a bit tiring but fun. :). Still remember elkan first day at school, everything seems OK, until that afternoon when that stupid Bus Coordinator put him in the wrong bus which makes elkan a bit paranoid of going to to school with the school bus, can you imagine a 4 years old child have to spend 4 hours in the school bus because of that man mistake, and the worst part is he does't even admit that it was his mistake. :(. But that's the past, he already enjoy using the school bus now. Elkan, we really proud of you.
Hey.. titlenya kan tumis kangkung, kok jadi ngomongin yang laen.. hahaha. Sebenernya ada hubungannya sich.. :). Satu hal yang paling kita kangenin kalo kita moving abroad is... INDONESIAN FOOD.. hhehehe.. no wonder I'm this fat.. :). But you have to admit, kita sebagai orang Indonesia gak bisa jauh-jauh sama yang namanya Nasi Indonesia (sedikit lebih detail soalnya banyak juga jenis-jenis nasi dari negara-negara lain tapi tetep aja gak seenak nasi indonesia, at least for me.. :) ), termasuk juga segala jenis makanan Indonesianya. Yang jelas kalo di dubai gak ada tuh yang namanya tukang baso, tukang sate ato tukang mie dok dok yang lewat depan rumah, jadi kalo malem-malem laper n makanan udah abis tinggal panggil aja.. :). Tapi beruntung I have a beautiful, wonderful wife that can cook, Indonesian food especially. Hmmm.. And last night she cooked Tumis Kangkung, actually she said that it's Thai Tumis Kangkung, but still rasanya sama persis sama tumis kangkung indo. :). But for sure it was really delicious.... The best cah kangkung I've ever had.. Mak nyuss.. kalo boleh pinjem istilah Pak Bondan Winarno. Ngomongin cah kangkung, jadi kebayang waktu di indo, kalo mau kangkung tinggal pergi ke pasar, modal seribu perak, dapet deh tu kangkung seiket. Kalo disini.. hhmm.. not that easy, pertama ke pasar sich kalo lagi untung mungkin ada tuh kangkung, tapi tetep aja harus rogoh kocek agak dalem dikit... paling gak 1 iket kangkung harganya sekitar 4-5 AED (1 AED = Rp. 2500). Kebayang kan.. hehehe... Makanya, puas-puasin makan sayuran di indo, diborong deh tuh semua.. hehehe.. kirim-kirim ke dubai juga kita gak nolak kok.. kekeke.. Memang kadang kita bisa lebih menghargai terhadap hal yang kita dapat setelah kita tidak mendapatkannya, tapi akan lebih baik jika kita bisa menghargai meskipun kita bisa mendapatkannya dengan mudah... Jadi inget waktu masih kecil sering diingetin sama orang tua.. "Kalo makan harus dihabisin ya... jangan di buang-buang.. masih banyak orang yang gak bisa makan seenak yang kita makan...".

Finally...

Akhirnya.. dimulai dari kemaren siang waktu Dubai, di apartment kita sudah tersambung dengan jaringan broadband internet n broadband TV. Broadband internetnya bener2 broadband alias cepet banget, padahal cuma pasang yang 1 Mbps/256 Kbps downlink/uplink speed nya. Tadi malem sudah dicoba test kecepatan lewat www.speedtest.net, hasilnya bikin bingung soalnya kecepatannya kok setara sama yang broadband internet 4 Mbps/1 Mbps downlink/uplink. Mudah-mudahan beneran cepet gini terus gak cuma awal-awalnya aja.

untuk broadband TV nya juga kualitasnya bagus banget, gambarnya jernih n gak ada putus-putusnya, jadi inget di Indonesia pernah pake layanan TV Satelit berbayar eh ternyata kualitasnya tidak sebagus iklannya, sering banget putus-putus gambarnya, udah komplain beberapa kali tetep aja gak ada kemajuan. 

Happy 5th Anniversary

October 3rd this year was my 5th wedding anniversary with my wife. I couldn't imagine it's already 5 years... Gosh.. seems like only yesterday when we walk down the eisle..

We didn't really "celebrate" it this year, still busy preparing our new apartment, so we spent the whole day wondering around Festival city looking for some stuff to fill up our apartment. And for "dinner celebration", my lovely wife made some wonderful steak, but because we don't have any dining table yet, so we have to eat the steak by standing in the kitchen.. hahaha.. what an experience.. I wouldn't change it for the world though..

It has been a wonderful 5 years.. thank you for everything ...

Jaga Kantor

Tadi malem sama hari ini harus jaga kantor.. hiks hiks.. Tadi malem sampe jam 11 PM, trus pagi ini mulai jam 6.30 AM. Gile bener nich. Tapi hari ini cuma sampe jam 2 PM sich, abis itu mau pulang trus beres-beres apartment lagi nich.. sumpah masih berantakan banget.. *sigh*..
